We are dog people. Dogs have always been a part of our lives. From teaching obedience classes since the early 90's, competing in obedience and conformation, participating in therapy, lecturing on various dog-related topics and rescuing and fostering various dogs (and a few cats) throughout the years as well as working in the veterinary tech field, lots of insight was gained as to what specific ingredients in an animal's diet helped or hindered overall health.

We have a keen interest in dog nutrition and have made our own dog food for many years. Because we couldn't find treats that met our stringent standards, we began making those, too. It wasn't long before we had friends and family inquiring about our treats, and we soon decided to offer them to the public.

Monkeypups was inspired by Phinn and Veda, two Chinese Crested dogs. Along with having their own distinct personalities, they each have their own web pages, blog and are soon to be the subject of a children's book.
